BREEAM

Under the Health and Wellbeing category, BREEAM allocates credits related to air quality under category Hea 02 Indoor Air Quality, and related to thermography under category Man 04 Commissioning and Handover. The BREEAM Hea02 environmental assessments process considers a broad range of relevant factors covering air quality and credits can be gained for various aspects including having an Air Quality Plan for the project, building ventilation design, use of low VOC construction products and post construction air testing. In later version of the BREEAM standard the Indoor Air Quality Plan is a pre-requisite of Hea02 and is required to achieve any credits under this section. The BREEAM Man 04 section covers a range of subjects including design and preparation for commissioning, testing and inspecting building fabric, handover and aftercare support. This includes a requirement for a thermographic survey as part of testing and inspecting the building fabric.
