Man 04 Thermographic Surveys

Our latest offering here at Air Quality Plan is Thermographic Surveys to aid compliance with the requirements of BREEAM Man 04. Thermographic surveys are important under BREEAM Man 04 (Commissioning and Handover) because they help verify the thermal performance and integrity of a building’s envelope. By identifying areas of heat loss, poor insulation, or air leakage through infrared imaging, these surveys ensure that construction quality meets the design intent and energy performance targets. This not only supports energy efficiency and occupant comfort but also contributes to earning credits under BREEAM by demonstrating that the building has been properly commissioned and handed over. Conducting thermographic surveys at the right stage also helps avoid costly remedial work after occupancy.

What Does A Thermographic Survey Involve?

As specified in the BREEAM standards, our team will utilise a state of the art thermographic camera to capture images of the building envelope and asses for any areas of heat loss, poor insulation or air leakage. Our team will make sure that the thermographic survey is carried out in accordance with BS EN ISO 6781-1:2015 – Performance of buildings as per the requirements of BREEAM Man 04 methods. Our expert team will also provide free advice and guidance to your project manager to help to create the correct environment for the tests as ensuring a suitable temperature differential for testing is critical for a successful outcome. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries.

Air Quality

All BREEAM thermographic surveys are carried out in accordance with the following standards:

BS EN ISO 6781-1:2015: Performance of buildings. Detection of heat, air and moisture irregularities in buildings by infrared methods - General procedures
